Families may still apply for available Magnet Program seats for the 2026–2027 school year. Applications will remain open until all available seats are filled or until the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year, whichever comes first.
Interested families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure their child’s opportunity to become part of Miami Springs Preparatory Academy 6–12.

2027-2028 Magnet Registration & Instructions
Miami Springs Preparatory Academy 6-12 and Miami-Dade County Public Schools is listening to you.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools is known for innovation in education. We have been a leader in Choice programs for decades and continue to develop and implement cutting-edge models for delivery of curriculum that will prepare our students for the businesses of tomorrow while utilizing emerging technologies.
The online Magnet Application cycle for the 2027-2028 school year will open October 1, 2026, and close January 15, 2027.
Students interested in attending a Magnet program at Miami Springs 6-12 need to meet the following Miami Springs Preparatory Academy 6-12 Magnet Eligibility Criteria:
- A minimum of 2.0 GPA (2.5 GPA for Aerospace only) in core academic subject areas (e.g., language arts, mathematics, science, social studies)
- All effort grades in core academic classes must be “2” or higher
- No Ds or Fs in conduct
- No more than 10 unexcused absences or tardies will be allowed for previous year
- Recommendations may be required
To apply to one of Miami Springs Preparatory Academy 6-12 is nationally recognized and has award-winning Magnet programs, such as the Aerospace Magnet, Academy of Hospitality & Tourism (AOHT) or iTECH Academy’s Robotics/AI Program. Please follow the link to School Choice and Parental Options.

Random Selection
Through a third-party computer system, the random selection process is generated based on the programs’ specific eligibility criteria, sibling pairings and other school and district specific selection criteria. The system generates waiting lists for each program.
